PM Tools: Telework in the Federal Environment

As ever-evolving technologies continue to change the culture, capabilities, and make-up of today’s federal workforce, government leaders are spearheading efforts to create policies embracing a remote workforce. At a Telework Town Hall meeting in Washington, D.C. on October 7, representatives from government and industry gathered to discuss the progress of federal telework initiatives, tout its successes, and share concerns. Chief among those concerns for implementing broad telework policies are the effects on the organization and on the effective management of sometimes far-flung project teams.

OMB to Launch Project Management Laboratory

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is launching a “project management laboratory” to train federal IT project managers using simulations of large complex projects, announced Federal CIO Vivek Kundra in a keynote speech at the Project Management Institute Global Congress on October 10.

Audit Report: November 2010
